I lay in the sand of this country
time now scattered to the wind
the hourglass shattered
the tears in my body
as my blood flows down
define a new measure
only thoughts remain
the grains of my life
set before me
all that I've done
all I would do swirl
like falling photographs
I wait in the park
looking toward my Father
for his help
so that I might feel again
that gentle pull
toward the sky
