Drifting Home

the water lapping 'gainst the hull
the laughing gull
the give and take
the life we make

a journey full of things unknown
a dream that's flown
a shifting tide
a teardrop dried

this lonely ocean keeping time
this wingèd rhyme
this ticking clock
this solid rock

This is a minute because it has exactly 60 syllables in 3 stanzas: 8/4/4/4. The rhyme scheme is AABB CCDD EEFF, and minutes have a strict iambic meter. I've added semi-wreathed rhymes in the second and third stanzas ("full" is an internal rhyme with "hull," "lone-" with "-known."
